With these words, His Majesty the King expressed himself during his meeting with Trump in the White House, and the meeting ended with His Majesty adhering to his positions on the one hand, and the American President adhering to his statements. In fact, Trump added to what came before with a statement that increased the seriousness of the matter when he said that the West Bank should be annexed to Israel and that the Gazans have no interest in remaining in Gaza.
The King’s clear and frank diplomacy is supposed to push the US administration to adjust its compass in dealing with regional issues in general and to maintain its relationship with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in particular.
It also pushes the leaders of the Arab countries to contemplate the danger of Trump’s statements on the future of all the countries of the region, to take a strong and honorable position for their peoples, who will not accept injustice and silence regarding this challenge that threatens world peace. There is no bet on any reassurances or honeyed promises to the enemies, and history bears witness.
Since the establishment of the Jordanian state, we have faced many challenges, and thanks to the cohesion of the Jordanian tribes and the understanding regarding their leadership, we have emerged from them stronger than before, so there is no compromise on Jordanian soil.
What we are witnessing now in terms of scenarios as a result of Trump’s statements threatens all countries in the region and world peace. Therefore, all countries must wake up and assume their responsibilities to confront these dangers.
The leaders of these countries must not forget the status of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as the security pillar, which, if it collapses, God forbid, will be the beginning of a reshaping of the map of the region, which will certainly not be in the interest of the cowardly leaders who believe that their submission protects their seats.
The value of the meeting was represented by the King’s courage in confronting and his adherence to the Hashemite legacy and the steadfast historical positions of the Jordanian state, relying on his people who believe in the cause of the Palestinian people and are armed with their awareness and love for Jordan and their confidence in the country’s leader to preserve their national interests and defend their sacred country’s soil. The protests witnessed by all the Kingdom’s governorates during the past few days are the best evidence of their support for their leader, their adherence to their steadfast positions and their readiness to make sacrifices no matter what they are.
Returning to the beginning, getting out of this reality requires the leaders of the Arab countries to agree on a single position that serves the future of their peoples, but the fear of those who cannot make the honorable decision is for fear of their seats, and in doing so they are wronging their peoples and themselves together, as there is no bet on the credibility of the occupying state and the countries that support it, foremost among them the United States of America.
