Saraha News – The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a direct warning to Qatar on Saturday, demanding that it clarify its position on what it described as “the conflict between civilization and barbarism.”
The statement, published on the X platform, stated that Qatar must stop “playing both sides” and choose whether it stands with “civilization” or “Hamas’ barbarism,” as the statement put it.
Israel warns Qatar
The statement claimed that Israel is waging a “just war by just means,” noting that the events of October 7 marked a turning point in defining the nature of this conflict, which Netanyahu called a “war of redemption.”
This unprecedented statement reflects the extent of the underlying tension in the undeclared relationship between Israel and Qatar, which plays a pivotal role in mediating between Tel Aviv and Hamas as part of efforts to reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement amid the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
